Besides the possibility of having more than one girlfriends, depending on your popularity score, you could upgrade your(s) girlfriend(s) rating by upgrading her levels: clothes, make up, plastic surgery (butt, lips, breast), fitness.

My suggestion is: more than just one girlfriend and with the increase of fame you can increase the number of girlfriends you have. They also should be a expense for you (pay her rent, gifts...). Dinner out cinema and other girlfriends events should be included.
